30. The Revealed - Full Book Discussion

Hi Everyone! Checking in from our brief hiatus, and coming at you with a full book discussion on The Revealed by Sarah Kleck, which is the sequel to the first book we discussed (The Concealed). While this book was..definitely not our favorite, we had a fun time talking about Evelyn's character growth finally materializing in this book, our love of Arthurian magic and legends, and the lack of justice for Colin and Sally, the true power couple of the series. We will be back in two weeks to talk about another sequel - The Wicked King by Holly Black!

31. The Wicked King - Full Book Discussion

As our month long break continues, enjoy another special extra episode, where we are discussing the entirety of the plot of The Wicked King by Holly Black, or also known as the sequel to The Cruel Prince, and the second book in the Folk of the Air trilogy. Join Julia and Chantelle as we discuss our favorite parts of the story, whether Chantelle made any accurate predictions about the book (or makes any accurate ones about the next book), our refreshed character assessments now that we have more information, and one too many references to Cardan's tail!

Here we discuss our next choice - This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab, an urban fantasy filled with monsters and a divided city who cannot agree on how to deal with them. Join us as we discuss the reasons Chantelle picked this book, learn what Julia is excited about for her first V.E. Schwab story, and of course, as we drink a glass of wine. 

33. This Savage Song - Prelude & Verse 1: Chapter 1

We are finally kicking off our third book in our chapter by chapter reading series, and it is This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab! Starting the book off strong with lots of action - a church burning down, lots of monsters, and a divided city, and we are so excited to dive into the world of Verity and V-City with you all as we begin this tale of two teens trying to find their place in a dystopian, monster ridden society. 

34. This Savage Song - Verse 1: Chapters 2-5

Join Julia and Chantelle as we dissect Chapters 2-5 of This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab! These chapters are the longest school commute either of us have ever seen (including our grandparents who walked 5 miles in the snow both ways), but give a lot of great insight into the world, the monsters in Verity, and according to Chantelle, the socioeconomic divide created by suburbanization that mirrors segregated communities in today's modern age.
